Wow what a bill. This must have been 1984. At that time Suicidal Tendencies were being played on KROQ and hardcore was getting huge, especially in LA. Suicidal Tendencies appealed greatly to disaffected kids with macho inclinations and frat boys alike, their songs replete with metal'isms like wanky guitar leads and the use of chorus effects on the guitar, then unheard-of in hardcore. The era of old-school hardcore drew to a close.
