There once was a day when channel three on the idiot box was reserved for where you plugged your Pong game into. Or cable if you lived somewhere so advanced. So it used to be blank.
As dorky as they look in this photo, Channel Three were a great band that concocted a joyful mix of straight up OC HC with melodic pop sense. I may dare say that they broke what we think of today as "pop punk". Only their version didnt induce vomiting. Quite the opposite. Songs like Catholic Boy and Manzanar, odes to the hipocrisy of Catholic schools and the travesty of California Japanese internment camps "right in your own backyard" elevated this band to another level.
